ALTの先生方によるハロウィンイベントが10月31日に行われました。
Hello, I'm Evan Rocco, a second year English ALT at Ueno Gakuen. On Halloween we had our second annual after-school Halloween challenge party. Halloween in America is very popular and both kids and adults celebrate every year. We try to help share the spirit during our time at Ueno Gakuen as much as we can. This year we had English trick or treat where students had to answer challenging questions in exchange for treats. I also made pumpkin shaped magnets and let students decorate them and take them home. I prepared more than 20 and the students decorated almost all of them. I was so happy! There were also costumes, stickers, and face paint! It was definitely our most popular after-school event so far, and easily the most fun. Our International Course friends joined us as well! It took a lot of work to prepare everything, but it is always worth it when we see how happy everyone is to participate. Next year we will make sure to make it even better!
Hi, I'm Skylar Rainey. I hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween party! Rocco-sensei and I had fun bringing the decorations back out and putting on Halloween music for everyone to enjoy. My favorite part was trying to scare the students as they reached into a bag to pick out Rocco-sensei's trick-or-treat questions. I scared a few of you--I am sorry--and we had a nice laugh about it. Thank you for being good sports about that! Watching everyone put on the mishmash of costumes I bought was another highlight. There was so much joy and amusement in each face I saw. It is such a treat to share our American traditions. Also, I had fun seeing the reactions to my costume. I hope we can make more fun memories around Christmas.
