Tea Ceremony

Hi, I am Skylar. I teach English at Ueno Gakuen.

On February 21st, I attended the final event for the third-year senior high school students in the Tea Ceremony Club. I have been to a tea ceremony before, outside of Ueno Gakuen. However, seeing the third-year students hold their final event before graduation was exciting. Americans are not raised with the same reverence for traditions that children in Japan are. Thus, it was awe-inspiring to witness the appreciation and care that the students had during the tea ceremony. The green tea was, of course, delicious. I am very appreciative for the wonderful experience I had. I wish the seniors all the luck in the world as they begin their journey to college and onwards.Image (6) (1).jpgImage (3) (1).jpg
